Founded in April 1960 by Guy L. Gill, C. H. Clowers Supply Company originally operated from a small building located at Tarry, Arkansas, 15 miles south of Pine Bluff. The company was formed primarily to supply Central Transformer, now Central Moloney, Inc. and Arkansas Electrical Cooperatives with copper magnet wire. As a stocking distributor for Westinghouse Electric Corporation, C. H. Clowers was able to offer the companies a local stock of copper and aluminum magnet wire at a competitive price.

Sales Reps

Realizing their potential after acquiring more statewide accounts, C. H. Clowers relocated in 1966 to Pine Bluff. Only two years later additional warehouse space was needed as well as an office capable of handling a larger volume of business. Moving to the present location at 2800 West 6th Avenue in 1968 gave the company 18,000 square feet of storage space and 2,000 square feet of office space making a total of 20,000 square feet. The warehouse is located in a commercial district approximately two blocks from Central Moloney, their largest account in Southeast Arkansas.

Accounting Department

In 1981 Gene Hudson purchased 50% of the company. In December 1983 upon the sudden death of Guy Gill, the Hudson family became and still remains the sole owner of the company. During the early 1980's the addition of more product lines and the expansion to a larger territory moved the company forward. That drive still exists today.

Warehouse

From a small building in Tarry, Arkansas to the present location, C. H. Clowers still operates under the same theory that brought them to this point. According to Gene Hudson, "We offer the electrical industry of Arkansas, and surrounding states, a local stock at a competitive price."
